The following rules and regulations have been adopted by the Executive Team to insure a safe and sanitary operation of the club facilities for the enjoyment of all members. Parents are required to instruct their children to observe the rules and obey the instructions of the person in charge. Failure to comply with the rules may cause suspension of pool privileges or cancellation of membership.
LIFEGUARDS ARE NOT ON DUTY AT ALL TIMES. SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK.
HEALTH AND SAFETY RULES
- Absolutely NO ALCOHOLIC beverages allowed.
- All swimmers shall take a cleansing shower before entering the pool.
- Swimmers shall take a cleansing shower before re-entering the pool and/or after applying lotion of any kind.
- Swimmers must wear clean appropriate bathing suits for family environment.
- A person suffering a communicable disease (including colds and flu) shall not use the pool.
- No bandages shall be worn in the pool. Swimmers with open wounds shall not use the pool.
- No person shall spit on or in any way contaminate the pool, pool deck, walkways or dressing rooms.
- No person shall eat, smoke or drink in the pool or on the pool deck (this includes gum).
- No person shall bring or throw into the pool any object that may carry contamination, endanger safety, injure swimmers and/or produce unsightliness.
- Beach balls, water wings, water noodles and infant swim rings (with approval of lifeguard) are the only floating objects allowed in the pool.
- Infants wearing diapers are required to wear “Little Swimmers” while in the pool.
GENERAL RULES
- Lifeguards are responsible for rule enforcement and may use their discretion to ensure a safe and pleasant environment.
- Please close and lock the door to the pool area after entering or leaving. The door should not be propped open at any time.
- All bicycles must be placed in the rack provided outside the pool fence.
- All skateboards, roller blades or scooters shall be placed in a basket provided around the sun deck.
- No abusive language, offensive conduct or offensive clothing is allowed.
- The club will not be responsible for loss of or damage to personal property.
- All personal property left at the pool for more than one week will be donated to a charitable organization.
- Any complaints concerning the lifeguards should be directed to the Pool Manager.
- Any complaints concerning actions by members or guests should be directed to a member of the Executive Team and/or the Pool Manager.
Age limits
Lifeguards are NOT on duty at all times. It is the responsibility of parent members to ensure their dependents abide by the age limit restrictions as well as their general safety.
Age 0 – 9: Must be supervised by an adult (e.g. at least 18) member at all times.
Age 10 – 13: May swim under the supervision of a lifeguard. Lifeguards may restrict unsupervised children for safety reasons. Children 10 to 13 years of age may not bring guests without an adult member.
Age 14 – 17: May swim under the supervision of an adult pool supervisor, but may only bring one (1) guest.
POOL DUTY SUPERVISORS
Pool Duty Supervisors are adult members of the pool that make sure members sign in, make periodic checks of the bath house to see things are in proper order, perform duties as listed on the posted notice, help, in case of an emergency, and in general are an adult presence to make sure the pool rules are followed and that the pool environment is safe and friendly. If you are unable to pool supervise on your designated day, you must arrange for another pool member to accept responsibility for your time period, and notify a member of the Executive Team to reschedule your pool duty time.
SPECIFIC SWIMMING RULES
- No diving in the shallow end of the pool.
- Jump or dive straight off the diving board, not to the side.
- Absolutely no swimming while the pool cover is on any part of the pool.
- One bounce on the diving board preceding a dive.
- Only one person on the diving board at a time.
- There is a 200lb. weight limit on the diving board.
- Do not hang on the end of the diving board.
- Make sure that no one is swimming in the deep end before diving.
- Excessive splashing water out of the pool is forbidden.
- Do not run, push or wrestle on the pool deck or in the pool.
- No bobby pins or barrettes are allowed in the pool.
- All shoulder length hair must be secured when swimming.
- Please, NO SCREAMING! A scream or yell may be the only means of summoning help. We must not become accustomed to ignoring screams that may be a cry for help.
GUESTS
- A guest is a person who is not a permanent resident of the member family. Babysitters and caretakers are considered to be part of the member’s family.
- All guests must be accompanied at the pool by a pool member.
- Each membership is entitled to 10 guests per season. Please use guest privileges discriminately.
- Groups such as softball or baseball team parties, when the party is reserved, are not counted as part of your 10 guests per season.
- A Pool Party Request Form is required. Parties may require additional lifeguards at the discretion of the Board.
- Guests must register by filling out a card and giving it to the lifeguard on duty or pool supervisor. The guest may or may not be admitted by the lifeguard on duty. (Subsequent visits by the same guest requires checking in with the lifeguard on duty).
- Pool members under the age of 14 shall be limited to one guest at a time when not accompanied by a parent member.
- The pool area may not be reserved at any time, except for swim meets, swim lessons or swim team practice. (The picnic area may be reserved.)
- The picnic area must be reserved for any group activity with more than 10 people in attendance. Group reservations are limited to no more than 30 people with a maximum of 15 swimmers. An adult member is responsible for the conduct and supervision of their guests.
